Observations of Wes and Ollie

An ongoing saga of life on the Oregon Trail generally and at York's General Store specifically for the man and ox.

Ollie: Did you see the self inflating seat cushions from the Allen Company that York's just got in? You just roll them up and when you are ready to have a seat you open the valve and, presto, the cushion self inflates. Think I might get me one of these.

Wes: How big are they?

Ollie: Hmmmm, let me see, it is a number 136. Oh, here it is; they are about 1 3/4" x 11" x 17".

Wes: You better get three or four.

Ollie: .......................Is there a message in that statement?

Wes: Ollie, you know how many days I spent looking at the eastern end of westbound oxen. One will not do it for you.

Ollie: Kind of makes a body wonder who was really leading the wagon train, doesn't it.
